Generally Speaking - Dragon Voice Recognition Software CAN do the following:
* Convert spoken words into text and spoken
commands into actions on your computer.
* Learn your writing style to help interpret your dictation.
* Learn new words and phrases, as well as special spelling.
* Convert digital voice recordings to text with either Preferred
or Professional Edition only - but the Standard Editions or below.
* Utilize specialized vocabularies, such as medical and legal.
Voice Recognition Software CANNOT do the following:
* Transcribe conversations and interviews,
seminars, Lectures, etc., into text as Dragon is a Single User
(just ONE voice) product.
* Transliterate languages - Speak in one language and have Dragon
transcribe it in a different language; i.e. from English to Spanish
* Work with cheap microphones or analog recorders. Digital recorders
and mics not "certified" by the software manufacturer.
* Work if you do not take the time to train your voice, correct
mis-recognized words and learn the parameters of the program.
In order to get the most from Voice Recognition Software, there are some Important Concepts to remember:
* You must speak as if you are dictating, including,
in most cases, punctuation. The clearer you speak, the better
the performance.
We often tell customers to speak in phrases and at a normal speed
and volume.
* You need to use the right input equipment, whether a microphone/headset
or a digital voice recorder. Quality in - means - quality out.
* You must be committed to training the software. That is, the
more you correct your work within the software, the better and
faster it
will learn how you prefer your output.
